The Bondi Family Arrives in Galesburg, Illinois
We came to Galesburg at the beginning of the 20th Century after I. I. Bondi & Hart E. Bondi met George Ferris, the inventor of the Ferris Wheel, at the 1896 World's Fair in Chicago, where Ferris persuaded the Bondi Brothers to open a dry goods store. The rest is history. Our commitment to Galesburg is to maintain the best in commercial properties.
Construction Started in 1928
The Bondi Brother sold their dry good store to Kline's Department Stores in 1927 and with those proceeds, constructed the Bondi Building in 1928. Then and now, Galesburg history is written with our tenants having shared in our success and "they represent the finest professions with their own successes...the continuing tradition."
