    This club originated in the mid 1950’s with a small break in the late 50’s early 60’s and a rebirth in the middle to late 60’s. The club acquired W9BPT for their club call as a memorial for Mert Legel. Mert was a charter of the club and was Elmer and friend to many of the members of our club. We use the N9FID/R which is on 147.135+ this Repeater owned by Charlie Corey N9FID but is maintained by our club. It is located on the bluff above Palisades State Park in Savanna, Illinois and gives great coverage over the local area. We have members from about four counties in northwestern Illinois and in northeastern Iowa, with eating meetings held most months of the year at various restaurants in our area. We also hold VE testing sessions quarterly at the Mount Carroll City Hall in Mount Carroll, Illinois.
