Vision Statement
To actively demonstrate God’s love by working together as a
Christian community (national and internationals) and to nurture and
nourish children made vulnerable due to poverty and the HIV/AIDS
virus.
We desire to partner with like-minded individuals and organizations
in assisting local African communities in the caring of orphans and
their caregivers within the African context.
Mission Thrusts
1. To furnish a place where the Little
Lambs can have their physical bodies clothed and fed.
2. To furnish a place where the Little Lambs can have their minds
stimulated with learning.
3. To provide people who can give the Little Lambs love,
encouragement, and counsel.
4. To provide a place where committed staff will feed their souls
with the Gospel of Jesus
Christ.
5. To partner with like-minded individuals and organizations to
assist the Nationals in caring
for the Little Lambs and their guardians.
Prospect for the Future
Due to the death of aging caregivers, the vision for the future care
of our children is to build a village where each child has a sense
of belonging in a home with responsible born-again parents to look
after them. Each “home” would house eight to ten children within
their local community. This is a very basic concept to be developed
in God’s way and will.
P.S. Some people say AIDS will “disappear” in ten years or so;
however, the facts are present to state that the full impact of this
disease is only beginning to be realized. Countries are struggling
economically and every way trying to cope with this overwhelming
disease.
The Shepherd’s Little Lambs program is just four years old but has
proven to be a successful outreach. Most excitedly, the vision has
been caught and energized by the Kenyan nationals. It’s helping
local people to know how they can also contribute to the orphan
crisis which is affecting every home in one way or another despite
the plight of poverty. Everyone is encouraged to give what they
have…everyone sharing both the burden and the blessing. To God be
the Glory.
