Old Saws Restored

Hello, my name is Daryl Weir and I've been restoring and sharpening saws for quite a few years now. Some of you might be familiar with saws that I have sold on ebay as woodnut4. I'm trying to offer saws here that you can buy instantly without having to wait a week and frankly some people just don't like auctions. The saws that are presented for sale are ready to use and have been carefully jointed, teeth reshaped, set and sharpened with every operation being done by hand. There have been no re-toothers involved to stress and bend the saw plate and the teeth are not overly set as sometimes happens with power setters.

My prices reflect the time it takes to do all this by hand but I think you will be pleased with the results when you cut with it. Shipping through USPS Priority Mail will be calculated based on weight and your address. Generally, packaged saws weigh between 2 and 3 lbs. Email Me for more information and for item totals. Payments accepted through Paypal and USPS money orders.

I will add more saws as time allows. I still have a full time job through the day and enjoy doing this as a hobby in my spare time.

Thanks for looking!

Item_No88C 1900 era Disston made 20" E.C. Simmon Keen Kutter No.88 12ppi cross cut. Keen Kutter was Simmons top of the line tool. These had a spring steel blade with a good taper grind, very similiar to the No.16 which the handle is patterened after. It has clean, wide, breasted blade, with some staining, that has seen little use. Etch is weak. Carved apple handle retains quite a bit of the origninal finish and is in excellent shape.
Price $90.00 SOLD

Pristine apple handle with quite a bit of the "original" finish intact. A fantastic saw that's been in my collection but it's time to let it go.

Item_12R1 Premium 1900 era 28" 5 1/2ppi Disston No.12 rip with graduated teeth, 6 1/2ppi at the point. 28" blade lengths in No.12's are not all that common. Good clean, wide, breasted blade with some patina that hasn't seen much use owing to it's width 7 9/16" at the butt end and 2 3/4" at the point. Nib is still present on this one. Etch is very light as the picture shows. I've repaired the top horn on the carved apple handle with apple. Other than that the handle's in great shape. It has been refinished with dewaxed garnet shellac. Blade has a great ring to it when thumped. Don't let this one pass you by!
