Saws For Sale

Here's a listing of saws that can vary from Disston, Atkins, Bishop & Simonds etc. that I am proud to offer for your consideration. They are all tuned up & ready to use.

My pricing reflects the time it takes to refurbish these vintage saws by hand but I think you will be pleased with the results when you cut with it. Shipping through USPS Priority Mail will be calculated based on weight and your address. Generally, packaged saws weigh between 2 and 3 lbs. Email Me for more information and for item totals. Payments accepted through Paypal and USPS money orders.

I will add more saws as time allows. I still have a full time job through the day and enjoy doing this as a hobby in my spare time.

Thanks for looking!

Item_120C1   Here's a harder to find premium, 1900 to 1910 era, 26" 10ppi Disston ACME 120 no-set cross cut saw. This one has been in my collection for a couple of years. The only reason I'm selling it is I found one that's a little nicer. It's filed with the tall tooth configuration like it should have. I don't believe you'll find anyone else doing this. Most 120's when found have had regular teeth filed in which diminishes the fast and smooth cut these will produce. Good clean, breasted blade with some patina and some micro pitting but nothing bad. Both etches are there but I'll have to admit some of the script is hard to read. The carved apple handle is in very good shape. It has been refinished with dewaxed garnet shellac. The ultimate finish saw if you're a cabinet maker. You won't believe the way these saws cut!
Price $350.00 SOLD!

Item_12C1   Premium 1920 era 26" 8ppi Disston No.12 cross cut filed with 25 degree sloped gullets. This is a very nice cutting saw as it cut right through some red oak effortlessly. Good clean, wide, breasted blade with some patina, but no serious pitting as you can see. Blade measures 7 3/8" at the butt end and 2 5/8" at the point. Nib is still present on this one. Etch is very readable as the picture shows. I've repaired the top horn on the carved apple handle with a piece of apple. The handle is still very solid. It has been refinished with dewaxed garnet shellac. Blade has a VERY nice ring to it when thumped. Don't let this one pass you by!
Price $250.00 SOLD!

Item_No7R2   Here's a nice early, massive 1880 era 28" Disston No.7 rip with graduated teeth from 5 ppi at the butt end to 6 ppi at the point. This has the 3 patent dates stamped in the handle, although the last two can't be made out very well. It also has the smaller diameter centennial screws that Henry patented. He started using these right after the split nuts which have the same diameter of thread. This one is filed with a 4 degree rake and is a sweet cutting saw. Nice wide, breasted (crowned) blade with darker patina with some light pitting. The nib is present. The etch is still pretty readable. Blade measures 7 3/4" at the butt end and 3 " at the point. The beech handle has a chip on the upper horn and the lower which I have left alone. I opted not to refinish the handle on this one, just cleaned it lightly and applied some paste wax. A fantastic saw to add to your collection or put back to use.
Price $000.00 SOLD!

Item_72C1   Here's a 1920 era Premium 24" Simonds No.72 Blue Ribbon panel saw with 9ppi. The Blue Ribbon models were Simonds top-of-the-line saw. The blue in the main etch is still visible if held in the right light and the pictures show this. It's been filed with sloped gullets and is wicked sharp. Nice bright, wide, breasted (crowned) blade with some patina in areas. Blade measures 6 3/16" at the butt end and 2 3/8" at the point. The carved apple handle is in good solid shape after I repaired the top horn with apple. It's been finished with dewaxed garnet shellac. Another fine user saw from the golden age of saw manufacturing.

Item_10.5R1   Here's a 1910 era 26" Simonds No.10 1/2 rip with a regular 5 1/2ppi and graduated to 6 1/2ppi at the point. I've filed this a little differently with a bevel on the back of the tooth, the front is still at 90 degrees to the plate side and has an aggressive rake of 0. This type of filing creates a bit of a skew to the top edge. It isn't a cross cut as is has no slicing bevel on the front for cutting cross grain. This one glides right through red oak also. Nice wide, breasted (crowned) blade with darker patina. This one has some pitting as you can see but still does a fine job of ripping. There is no etch visible on this one. Blade measures 7 " at the butt end and 2 3/4" at the point. The carved beech handle is in very good shape but does have a couple of checks on the grip. These are shallow, tight and solid. It's been finished with dewaxed garnet shellac. Another good user saw from the golden age of saw manufacturing.

Item_D8R1   Here's a late 1890's early 1900 era massive 28" Disston D-8 thumbhole rip with a finer 6ppi. This one glides right through red oak. Nice wide, breasted (crowned) blade with darker patina but no serious pitting. The etch is light but some can be read. Blade measures 7 13/16" at the butt end and 2 3/4" at the point. Has a thinner blade than most 28" rips at .038". The apple handle is in very good shape but does have a check on the grip and a tight hair line crack in the top horn that I wicked some glue in before I finished it. It's been finished with dewaxed garnet shellac. Another good, user quality saw, from Disston's golden era.

Item_D12C1   Premium 1930's era 24" 10ppi Disston D-12 panel cross cut saw filed with 15 degree sloped gullets. Another very nice cutting saw as it cut right through some red oak effortlessly. Very clean, wide, breasted blade with some staining, but no pitting as you can see. Stripe can even be seen on the back. Very bold etch. Blade measures 6 5/8" at the butt end and 2 1/8" at the point. This had the original factory edge before I touched it up. The carved apple handle retains the original factory finish, has some crazing but is still in very good shape. Item_D23C1   Earlier, harder to find 1927 26" 8ppi Disston D-23 cross cut saw filed with a 15 degree slope. This has the earlier etch with the 23 inside the D. The apple handle does NOT have the cover top that appears in 1928. The birds mouth in the top of the handle is now gone and the handle opening has changed from the earlier Type 1 version. Notice there is no mention of "Lightweight" like on the later versions. Good clean breasted blade with some patina, but no serious pitting as you can see. There are some dings at the edge but the blade is straight and cuts well. Blade measures 6 9/16" at the butt end and 1 1/2" at the point. Etchings are readable as the picture shows. The handle has been lightly cleaned but retains what's left of the original finish. Another vintage Disston saw ready to be enjoyed!
